The fear of the Lord

The is a strange connection between love and the fear of the Lord.

Isaiah 11:2 & Revelation 1:4 talk about the seven spirits of God. Isaiah 11:3 prophesied that Jesus would delight in the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord.

That spirit is the one that tethers us to the will of God. Without the fear of the Lord we cannot know the precise will of the Lord. We may be doing the opposite of what He wants.

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—
and He will delight in the fear of the Lord. Isaiah 11:2-3a (emphasis mine).

Isaiah 11 is prophesying about Jesus. The word translated “fear” can be puzzling. This is what the Life Hope & Truth website says about the subject:

The main Hebrew and Greek words translated fear in the Bible can have several shades of meaning, but in the context of the fear of the Lord, they convey a positive reverence.

The Hebrew verb yare can mean “to fear, to respect, to reverence” and the Hebrew noun yirah “usually refers to the fear of God and is viewed as a positive quality. This fear acknowledges God’s good intentions (Ex. 20:20). … This fear is produced by God’s Word (Ps. 119:38; Prov. 2:5) and makes a person receptive to wisdom and knowledge (Prov. 1:7; 9:10)” (Warren Baker and Eugene Carpenter, The Complete Word Study Dictionary: Old Testament, 2003, pp. 470-471).

The Greek noun phobos can mean “reverential fear” of God, “not a mere‘fear’ of His power and righteous retribution, but a wholesome dread of displeasing Him”.

Love & the Greater Works

God is releasing a capacity to love like never before. It will escort us into the greater works. (Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing,and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12)

However, we will never walk in the greater works unless we walk in the greater love.

Psalm 23 line by line

Psalm 23 says nothing about people doing things for God. It is God doing things for you.

Justin Abraham has broken down the 23rd Psalm into bite-size pieces.

My shepherd

 

The Lord is my shepherd. Psalm 23:1a. I.e., you are the little lamb he is carrying.

 

Not want

I shall not want. Psalm 23:1b.

God takes care of you. He sets pleasurable things around you. Take advantage of them. Get pleasure out of the little things He has created.

The Lord wants to give you pleasure. Enter into the rest of God. Love God. Enter into a oneness with Him.

Still waters

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  Verse 2.

God already loves us.  If you become a lover of God, that can bring a great peace. Man and God should be enjoying each other.

Green pastures is the unseen world in God. They are in another dimension. They allow us to live beyond natural limitations. (You can learn much more on this topic by linking to the podcast at the bottom of this post.)

Paths of righteousness

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Verse 3.

Get close to the Lord and His righteousness will be written in your heart. I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26b.

Ask for forgiveness and, in God’s mind, it will be as though your sins had never existed.

When your heart wanders from union with God, bring it back. You will not have to ask the will of God. You will know it.

What’s obvious for someone with a happy marriage…

Some things are just so natural for those of us who have a phenomenally delightful marriage.

I once spent a minute or so explaining 1 Peter 3:7 to a 30-something married man. I told him that he should treat his wife with consideration & respect every minute of every day.

Two weeks later he said that his marriage was 1000 times better. I guess no one had ever told him that couples with successful marriages treat each other with consideration & respect at all times.

We have to share our wisdom with the younger people. They just don’t think of some of these things.

Read & pray

The Focus on the Family people once published some statistics on divorce in America. One group of people had a much lower probability of getting a divorce than the other categories.

Those were couples who pray out loud together every day.  Their probability of divorce was one in a thousand.

Another trick for having an amazing marriage is to read the Bible out loud together every day. You’ll be getting so much wisdom and will have the same attitude towards things that otherwise could cause division.

What about the one in a thousand?

You may be wondering about the one in a thousand.  Why do they get divorced?

Psychologist Dr. Paul Hegstrom has insight into such things. When a child has a severe trauma, the consequence can be arrested brain development. Part of their person remains a young child.

The trauma could be things such as

• ♦ Rejection in the original family,
• ♦ Incest,
• ♦ Sexual molestation
• ♦ Emotional abuse and
• ♦ Physical abuse.

Such traumas can result in an inability of the body to manufacture certain new parts of the brain that normally develop at puberty. This can result in an inability to treat a spouse with consideration & respect at all times.

The remedy

If part of your brain is remaining as a young child, there is hope. Dr. Paul Hegstrom has found a way of “rewiring the brain”.

Getting Into the Dark Side

Ryan LeStrange was a victim of spiritual attack through no fault of his own. When he was a child, a family member locked him in a dark closet and told him ghost stories from outside the door.  He was full of fear until he was delivered years later.

As the years went by, he got deeper into the things of the demonic. This started to get reversed as a result of getting in trouble with the law.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Hosea 4:6a

What is “spiritual attack”?

to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.    1 Corinth 12:10

Spiritual attack is the coordinated series of events coming from the realm of hell to stall your destiny & shipwreck your faith.

Demons in hell know people’s destiny. They have planning sessions on how they can reverse a person’s destiny.

So, they may give someone a spirit of

• Anger
• Depression
• Lust
• Loneliness

or any of a myriad of different types of demons to sidetrack a person.

Getting set free from spiritual attack

Often people cannot overcome a spiritual attack because they do not realize that the problem is demonic.  Sometimes they need someone else’s faith to help them break through.  If that happens, take note of the following verse.

When they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them.  Mark 4:15b

If you are in doubt after a breakthrough, think about Mark 4:15.

One of the keys to getting through a spiritual attack is getting desperate to get set free.

Don’t lose your destiny

The demonic do not have many weapons in their arsenal. The main one is deception. If he can make us believe that he has authority, then we give him authority.

To get yourself set free from a spiritual attack, remind yourself of who God says you are. Keep thinking about that.

Blind Woman Sees

Ryan LeStrange was preaching and the Lord told him to tell a story about a blind woman getting her sight back. He told that story.

Someone brought up a blind woman with one empty eye socket and a white eye with no pupil in the other socket.

The Lord told him that the woman would get her sight back. He prayed for her and she could see.

What is a seer?

Ana Werner is a new covenant seer. A seer is a person who hears and gets wisdom from the Lord. This comes primarily using the sense of sight.

For instance, once Ana was praying for a group of people in church and saw lots of bruising around someone’s shoulder. No one else could see it.

So, she knew that she was to pray for the shoulder. It got healed.

Seeing her guardian angel

Ana Werner started supernatural experiences at age 5. That’s when she saw her guardian angel. They talked to each other and even prayed together.

Years later her guardian angel showed up while she was lost in a very rough neighbourhood. He showed her how to get home.

Seeing words in the air

Sometimes Ana Werner sees English words in the air. They may represent why a person does not receive their healing. It could be something such as unforgiveness, bitterness or hate.

It could be the condition such as cancer that the person has.  Whatever it is, the words will be guides for Ana telling her how to pray.

How Ana developed her gift

Ana Werner started by spending 10 minutes a day being led by the Lord. Now she spends more time talking to and waiting on the Lord. She would ask to experience him with her senses.  She would journal what she experienced.

You have not because you ask not

When Ana was in heaven once, she saw some angels going down to earth on assignments. Other angels were just standing around waiting. Ana was told that they were waiting for people to ask for things in prayer.  They could not go and help until people prayed asking.

They must teach my people the difference between what is holy and what is unholy. They must show the people how to tell the difference between what is clean and what is unclean.   Ezekiel 44:23

We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:5

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.   Colossians 1:27

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.   Galatians 5:22 – 23

A curse without cause does not alight

Dennis & Dr. Jen Clark claim that 80% of people with serious emotional issues can reverse their problems by closing the door to demonic attack.  And it’s not that hard.  It’s a matter of simple self deliverance.

Some negative emotions simply invite the demonic into our lives.  For example:

• Hurt
• Fear
• Loss
• Guilt
• Shame
• Anger
• Anxiety
• Worry

God created emotions to be a conduit of the fruit of the spirit as listed in the passage from Galatians above. Negative emotions can give the demonic legal right to come into a person’s life.

A common big problem is loneliness.  Sadness is an emotion. Loneliness is not. It is a demon.

A scientific study determined that 20% of Americans are lonely.  Look at this more surprising statistic. Suppose one of your friends is lonely. You have a 52% chance of becoming lonely too.

You wouldn’t have a 52% chance of “catching” loneliness simply by being around a lonely person if it were an  emotion. You have a 52% chance because the demon can hop onto you.

Take every thought captive

As quickly as possible, we should take “every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.” Jesus taught us how to live. Living a life of forgiveness helps us to get rid ourselves of resentment. It is one of the main keys to living a life of constant peace. It is also one of the keys to self deliverance.

Having made certain vows can mess up your thought life. For instance, you may have had a failed marriage. If you say, “I’ll never trust a man again,” you may miss the man of your dreams. You may have made a fool of yourself trying to speak in public.  If you vow to never speak on stage again, you may miss your destiny.

Anger and sleep

Ephesians 4:26 says: Do not let the sun go down on your anger. While we are sleeping our  glymphatic system cleanses our brains. However, if you have negative emotions just before going to sleep, they will not be cleansed from your brain.  

Get in the habit of cleansing yourself of negative emotions just before going to sleep.

As a point of interest, the glymphatic system also washes out the brain during deep prayer.

Christ in you, the hope of glory & self deliverance

Jesus can be in multiple places as the same time.  That includes being inside of you.

Dennis Clark has had great success helping people rid themselves of negative emotions. He and Dr. Jen travel far and wide teaching people how to do that.

He coined a term for his system called “dropping down”.  A negative thought will be in a person’s brain. He guides people in dropping that thought out of their conscious brain into the Christ that is within them.

He has people close their eyes, put their hands on their belly (the seat of their emotions) and receive forgiveness from Christ for opening the door to the negative emotion.  They are allowing Jesus to rise up and cast out that emotion.

Dennis Clark teaches the people how to do their own self deliverance.  He says that the average believer can reverse their negative emotions after 60 days.
