Had an affair, then what?

After having an affair, she confessed her sin to her husband.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. Proverbs 25:2 

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 

It is amazing how easily the devil can deceive people and convince them to do things they would not ordinarily do. Audrey Meisner learned that the hard way. 

She was a fine Christian lady who had been a Christian all of her life. She loved Jesus, she loved her husband and she loved her children. She even had a television ministry.

She thought that she was strong enough so that she would never get caught up in sin. Later she realized that was pride and “pride comes before a fall.”

After her adulterous affair she was filled with guilt and shame. She confessed it to her husband. He was ready to leave her.

He phoned up a pastor friend who asked him if anyone else knew about the affair. When her husband replied in the negative, the friend said that was a good thing because It is the glory of God to conceal a matter…

The Covering Principle

We all sin. It is God’s job to lead us to a state of holiness. While he is leading us, He covers us. He does not go out of His way to expose our shame.

He
Protects us and
Promotes healing.

When we go to God, He does not shame us and He does not expose us.

Audrey and her husband were protected and healed. Their marriage has been restored and they have an exceptionally happy family.
