Build a Strong Spirit

I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it. I Corinth 3:2a

♦ Spirit man  Your spirit man is that part of you that encounters the glory of God.

♦ Chase God  Do not chase being in the spirit. Chase God. Chase the Glory of God. Spend has much time as you can with God.

♦ Leaning process  To be in the natural world and in the spirit realm at the same time is a learned process .

Really simple keys for building your spirit

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 The term breath of life refers to the spirit of God. So, what lives inside your spirit is the presence of God.

When we go to heaven, our spirits will carry the image of our soul. Our spirits and our souls go to heaven together.

♦ We need aggression and a desire to get hold of the things of heaven . If we just love God, experience God and worship God, there is a dimension missing. The lion and the lamb must be together.

♦ Born again  After Adam sinned, the sustaining of life was through his soul. Before that it had been through his spirit. When we get born again, we get re-birthed into the reality of what Adam had before the fall.

♦ Build your spirit  You want to build your spirit. To do that, you must give it the right food. Compare that to someone working out in a gym. If they do not have the right food, they can die. Food includes things like meditating, worshipping, waiting on God, praying in the spirit, declaring the word of God and fellowshipping with the saints.

♦ Meditating The Word of God has to be the basis of our meditation. Meditate v. — to ponder, to ruminate upon, to imagine, to mutter.

Compare that to a sheep chewing its cud. It ate the grass. Several hours later it regurgitated it and is chewing on it to get every ounce of energy out of the grass.

Take a single scripture and meditate it on over and over. Get in the habit of doing that regularly.

♦ Worship God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24

In truth means without concealing or hiding anything. So, you don’t bring your garbage to heaven. You don’t bring what you are into the presence of heaven. You transform into who you are and bring it into the presence of heaven.

Praise is not real worship. The praise comes first. Then we worship. Worship builds intimacy with the presence of God. There is no intimacy build during the praise part.

In true worship we surrender all we have to God. We have to have intimacy that builds a relationship with God. We must worship with our spirits, not with just our souls.

♦ Waiting on God They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Wait means to entwine together. When you are waiting on God you are twisting yourself with His nature. The one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 1 Corinthians 6:17

♦ Fellowship Where there is unity God commands a blessing. How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! … . It is like the dew of Hermon falling on Zion’s mountains. For there the LORD commanded his blessing— life everlasting. Psalm 133:1 – 3

You need unity for the power of God to be displayed. You cannot develop unity with people unless you spend time with them and get to know them. As more and more saints dwell together in unity, there is an exponential growth in the glory of God.

How can one man chase a thousand of them, and two pursue ten thousand; unless their Rock had delivered them up, and the LORD had handed them over? Deuteronomy 32:30 The implication here is that one saint can put a thousand to flight but two saints dwelling together in unity can put ten thousand to flight. And as more saints are linked together in unity, there is an exponential growth of the presence of God in a meeting.

♦ Praying in the spirit The only way to build a muscle is to use it and use it and use it. Praying in tongues is a vital part of growing spiritually. The reason you speak in tongues is to build your spirit.

It is possible to pray in tongues in English.

When you pray in tongues, your mind must be captivated by the Object of your desire. Start with five minutes a day. Then you work up to ten, then fifteen. Eventually you can get up to an hour a day.

It is hard work! Getting into the spirit realm is a lot of hard work. It is hard work learning to pray in tongues for an hour a day. You have to practice. You have to take dominion over your soul. When your soul does not want to work hard, take control over your soul.

♦ Declaring the Word of God Take a tiny passage of scripture and pray it. God lives in the Words we speak. If we keep declaring the Word of God, the right biblical passage will come to mind when we need it.
