Shemitah — Blessing or judgment

Jonathan Cahn, author of The Harbinger, has written a new book called The Mystery of the Shemitah.   In his research, Cahn has discovered patterns throughout the history of America that relate to the shemitah.

Shemitah — What is it?

The shemitah is every seventh year on the Hebrew calendar.  It started in the time of Moses.  On the shemitah year, the land was left fallow.  No one plowed, planted, pruned or harvested.  All debts were cancelled.

It was a time of blessing.  However, later on, when people rejected God, the shemitah year became a time of judgment.  This is explained in the YouTube video below.

The shemitah year lies behind the rise & fall of Wall Street, depression, recession, the rise of nations and the fall of empires.  The Wall St. problems of 1973, 1980, 1987, 2001 and 2008 are all related to the shemitah year.  This is explained in the YouTube video below.

Shemitah and the largest stock market crashes

Note that the last day of a shemitah year is Elul 29.  Sept.17/2001 was Elul 29.  That was the day that the US interest were lowered to such an extent that the stock market crashed. It lost 684 points.

Sept. 29, 2008 was also Elul 29.

This is what CNNMoney.com said about Sept.29, 2008: Stocks skidded Monday, with the Dow slumping nearly 778 points, in the biggest single-day point loss ever, after the House rejected the government’s $700 billion bank bailout plan.  778 points represented approximately $1.2 trillion in market value, the first post-$1 trillion day ever.
