Receiving hope
As a young boy, Dutch Sheets should have had enough faith to last the rest of his life. He saw amazing miracles that should have raised his hope in the Lord to an incredibly high level. Just watch the short YouTube video below to see some of the miracles he saw.
Tragedy struck and hope was deferred
Then one day, as a teenager, tragedy struck Dutch Sheets. His hope was taken away. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick“, Proverbs 13:12a. Dutch’s hope was deferred and he rebelled against God.
Causes of depression
By taking away hope, people can get clinically depressed. Watch the short video below.

The divorce rate in America has tripled in the past 30 years, 85% of youth in prison are from fatherless homes, etc., etc. Below is a YouTube video giving statistics for the result of hopelessness.
The silver lining — one billion souls
All things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. This lack of hope will cause people to turn to God. Dutch Sheets had an open-eye vision in which he saw a billion souls saved. Watch the YouTube video below.
