Inadequate alone
We all have a ministry of some sort. The more you try to do your ministry on your own, the more you will realize how inadequate you really are. You become adequate by opening up yourself to God and becoming a vessel through which He can flow. What is your purpose in the Kingdom of God? To find out, realize that God flowing through you is the answer to how you will do what you are called to do. Do you want to become a true Christian? The first step is to step into God’s presence. Get filled with His presence, His word and His love. Then you can begin to walk in the unique function into which God called you.
Jars of clay
We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7 We are the clay jar. The clay jar is made to be filled with something. We are really inadequate without God. With God operating within us, we have an amazing treasure within our clay jar. If the clay jar has a solid bottom, it will have a limited capacity to do much. But, if the bottom of the jar is open, a whole river of God can flow through it. (In the Bible water is the symbol of the Holy Spirit.) We are created with lots of limitations so that we will be open to the Lord. You can expect to be too inadequate to really minister unless you draw from the Lord. Our limitations without the Lord are huge compared to our limitations with the Lord. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
